Pepper

Rosa Beeren

Menge
whole, Brazil, also known as pink pepper and schinus berry

Pink peppercorn is not a true peppercorn but comes from the Peruvian pepper tree (Schinus molle). These unique fruits don’t have the typical peppery heat, but rather a sweet-spicy flavor with a subtle juniper note. They add a refined touch to salads, game, and fish dishes, and are visually striking as well. A gentle bitterness lingers on the palate, adding depth to the flavor.

When finely grated, they complement desserts with dark chocolate beautifully. Due to their delicate structure and natural moisture, it's best to crush them in a mortar – they’re not suitable for mills

Pink peppercorn goes perfectly with fish, chicken, game, fatty meats and white sauces, but also with fruits and dark chocolate. It also makes a great garnish.
